Devotion | Transformed
Friday Dec 10, 2021
Friday Dec 10, 2021
Continuing from the last devotion "Saved," Chip picks up with a similar thought regarding being transformed and how challenging it is to "be still" and allow the peace of God to find and speak to you in the daily hustle.
Romans 12:1-2
"Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect."

Devotion | Saved
Friday Dec 03, 2021
Friday Dec 03, 2021
Chip explores the word "saved" and being saved. What does it mean? Well, this is a question for the ages. However, the Bible speaks to this very topic extensively. Chip offers some thoughts on the matter.
Isaiah 30:15
For thus the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, has said, “In repentance and rest you will be saved, In quietness and trust is your strength.” But you were not willing,..'
John 3:16
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life."
Psalm 46:10
“Be still, and know that I am God." _____________________________________________

Gratitude...If you are reading this video description, then there's no doubt you have so much to be thankful for. Chip steps back and surveys his blessings, even the very air we breath. Be encouraged to thank God for his blessings in your life and make it point to never take them for granted.

Luke 17:11-18
11 Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee. 12 As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met him. They stood at a distance 13 and called out in a loud voice, “Jesus, Master, have pity on us!” 14 When he saw them, he said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed. 15 One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. 16 He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan. 17 Jesus asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? 18 Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?” 19 Then he said to him, “Rise and go; your faith has made you well.”

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Devotion | Healing
Friday Nov 19, 2021
Friday Nov 19, 2021
This is perhaps one of the best descriptions of the what Church should be about these days. Singing praises, praying, praying for and confessing to one another, and receiving forgiveness and healing. Chip reads and offers encouragement on a couple of passages pertaining to the topic.
James 5:13-16 13
Is anyone among you suffering? Then he must pray. Is anyone cheerful? He is to sing praises. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; 15 and the prayer offered in faith will [c]restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, and if he has committed sins, [d]they will be forgiven him. 16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.
1 Peter 2:24
...and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed.

Devotion | Hypocrite
Friday Nov 05, 2021
Friday Nov 05, 2021
We’re all hypocrites! In Matthew 7, Jesus talks about logs and specs. But in 1 Corinthians Paul speaks about the supremacy of love.
Matthew 7:3-5
3 Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? 4 Or how [b]can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ and behold, the log is in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.
1 Corinthians 13:1-7
If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body [a]to be burned, but do not have love, it profits me nothing. 4 Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, 5 does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, 6 does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Devotion | Being Content
Friday Oct 29, 2021
Friday Oct 29, 2021
Contentment seems harder and harder to find these days. Chip talks about his "secrets" to being content.
1 Timothy 6:8-9 8
If we have food and covering, with these we shall be content. But those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful desires which plunge men into ruin and destruction.
Isaiah 30:15
For thus the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, has said, “In repentance and rest you will be saved, In quietness and trust is your strength.” But you were not willing...
